This painting is of a region of Norway that struck me as storybook fantastic! Apparently, the ice particulate in the air made it seem as though the sky lightened rather than deepened as I gazed upwards. The Barents sea is in the background.

Derelict Windmill

This is a painting of a derelict farm where I used to hunt for pheasant in rural west-central Illinois. I was always struck by the colors of the old windmill and house that sat on this land. As it aged and was reclaimed by nature, everything seemed to match the color of the earth.

Killing Field

I usually don't paint abstract scenes, but this subject seemed to call for it. This is an area where a good friend deer hunts in Canada. The apparent emptiness and coldness of the landscape is made more so by the pockmarked snow where the deer lay dead.
