Home / About the Artist

Once at an art exhibition, a young lady approached me and asked me if I could sum up my art philosophy in a single word. I thought for a second (which is about my limit), and told her that I could not. I told her that art was much more complex than that to me, and then I asked her how she could see art in such simplistic terms. She said that art was just that simple to her.

In thinking more about it, I would have to say that my philosophy is that art, like life itself, is infinitely complex, and each piece I create is an attempt to capture some aspect of the complexity of life itself. Whether I'm trying to capture an exotic element from a place like the glittering frozen arctic fields of Norway, or I'm trying to capture a feeling I have about someone's situation in an image, I try to capture my feelings in a way that I can share them with you.

Enjoy your tour of my site, and as you do, I hope you are able to feel a little bit of what I felt when I created these works. Thanks for visiting.
